Denel Wardell for the People

A Conservative Voice forColbert & Lauderdale Counties

Who is Denel?

I am just a typical American mother and wife who is fed up with the government being out of control. They are out of control with the power they think they have, with spending our money, with trampling on our Constitution, with their agendas! For too long I have talked about something needing to be done! Initially I jumped into the race for State Senate as I believed that was how I could work for you in the best way.

I have learned a lot over the last 6 months. One of the things I have learned is a lot needs to be done about how people become our political representatives in the first place. I am not sure where this fight is taking me, but I know it is going to be a hard and interesting road to travel. No matter how great and godly the candidates are, there just seems to be the same old politics in the whole make-up of how our country and communities are ran. I think the whole process needs to be put back in the hands of the people...before we can truly elect the men and women who truly want to serve you.

I am a strong conservative Christian. I am a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Tuscumbia, AL. I believe that everything I do should be in service to God, and for His glory, not my own.

I am a mother of three, two boys and one girl. My youngest son is 19 years old, still living at home so he can concentrate on schooling at ITT Tech. My oldest son is my biological son, but was adopted. Even though he is not my legal son anymore, I still love him and call him my son. My middle child is my only daughter who is married to a wonderful man and has two beautiful daughters of her own.

I am married to a very supportive and patient man, Paul. He is a reporting analyst for Walgreens. God blessed me beyond belief with this husband, as it takes a man of great patience and calmness to deal with someone like me.

Some of you may already know me through my work with Shoals2DC. That is an organization I formed to help get taxpayers from Alabama to Washington, DC in September 2009 for the National Taxpayer March on DC. The official number of people there never reached the actual number of people that were there. From all over the US we had approximately 2.5 million people there at best guess. I will be working with this organization again in 2010 to get taxpayers back up there for another March on DC.

If you were to dig into my life, you will find that I have made many mistakes along the way. I venture to guess I will probably make many more before I die. None of us are perfect. Some mistakes are worse than others. However, the thing that matters most of all is how we learn from those mistakes and what we do moving forward. If it were not for the grace of God, quite honestly, I probably would be a mess. The reason I bring this up is because I want to make a committment here and now to you that I am not about to be a mudslinger in order to get things accomplished. We all make mistakes in our lives. I will focus on the issues, and how to actually put this country back in YOUR hands, and not the "elitist's" who think they know what is best for you and your family more than you do. Now, if someone is currently doing things that are immoral, or there is a record of doing things that would actually be harmful to you or your liberty and freedom, then I will have no problem pointing that out.

I would like to get to know all of you better. So, I would encourage you to consider holding a reception in your home, invite some friends, and I will be happy to come and sit with you and those friends and answer any questions you all have. I also would like to hear any ideas or suggestions anyone has. Click here to fill out the form, and we will get a reception scheduled. Another way to get to know me is to join my Facebook Group.

I am your Rosie!

Here is some interesting information I thought you all might enjoy. I particularly like the way they describe Rosie as the ideal woman worker: loyal, efficient, patriotic, and pretty. Though it would be a stretch to call me pretty, I hope I at least meet the other 3 attributes.

I also want to point out, that though I worked through the majority of my youngest son's life, I considered my job as mom and my hubby's wife to be top priority. This is why I waited until he was an adult to really get politically active. I knew my activity in politics would take a very high priority. I hope all will understand that though I respect women in the workforce, I in no way believe that they have any higher ground to stand on than women who stay home and devote themselves to their family. A woman at home is very much a Rosie just as a woman in the workforce. My purpose for using Rosie as my logo is to illustrate that I will be working for you!
